The CricketWest board is proud to endorse Michael Pailthorpe as our candidate for the upcoming elections of the WA Cricket board.

We wish for all eligible voting members of WA Cricket to endorse him in the up coming election.

Please see more about Michael below:

I'm delighted to nominate for an elected Member role on the WA cricket board.

My lifelong passion for and involvement in cricket as a player, coach, and administrator together with my community leadership, strategy, governance and hand’s on experience make me an ideal candidate.

Over the last four decades has served in various roles including Club President, coach, umpire, team manager and club representative to the governing association.

All four of my children (3 boys and a girl), started playing Woolworths blast and then progressed to both junior district cricket and junior community cricket, and in the case of the boys, to seniors at CricketWest associations and District Cricket.

As Club president I introduced a Woolworths blast centre at our club and started the club’s first girls team.

Since 2018 I have served as the independent member of the Country Cricket Board (CCB), and since 2020 as the CCB representative on WA Cricket’s Statewide Game Development Committee.

I have been the CEO of several organisations including Variety WA, EdConnect Australia and Sports Chaplaincy Australia, have served on multiple boards and as President of our High School P&C. As a result my business, political and community networks are extensive.

I hold a Bachelor of Business, an MBA and am a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

I currently lead the media organisation, Sonshine, which reaches more than 300,000 people monthly as across its FM radio, Digital Audio broadcasting and digital content platforms.

I look forward to bringing my organisational and strategic leadership and grass roots cricket experience to the WA Cricket board as a member appointed Director.

Michael Pailthorpe
